2008 Z ROCK PUMPKINHEAD CONTEST RULES

How the Contest operates:
Beginning October 4, 2008 and ending Oct 24th at 5:30 p.m., Z Rock listeners and interested parties may apply to participate in the 2008 Z Rock Pumpkinhead Contest (the “Contest”) by visiting the Z Rock web site at http://www.ZRockfm.com and clicking on the Pumpkinhead ‘Signup Here’ icon, or, in person, at one of the following locations: Carl’s Jr Restaurant located at 2516 The Esplanade, Chico, CA; the Z Rock studios at 856 Manzanita Court, Chico, CA; or at any other location announced on 106.7FM Z Rock or website www.zrockfm.com. Applicants must fill out the entire application form and tell why they “deserve to be a 2008 Z Rock Pumpkinhead.” After review by Z Rock, up to 30 Applicants will be invited to participate in the Contest. Invited Applicants will be notified by Z Rock no later than 5:30p.m. October 27, 2008. To participate, invited applicants must have previously completed the entry form in it’s entirety and have signed off on the Pumpkinhead Contest Rules at Z-Rock studios, 856 Manzanita Ct., Chico, CA no later than Oct. 24 at 5:30 p.m. and be present at the Contest site, Carl’s Jr Restaurant, at 2516 The Esplanade (corner of East Avenue) in Chico, no later than 7:30 am on Thursday October 30th, 2008 with their pre-carved pumpkin (see item #9) to check in. At 7:30AM official time will be called as 7:30AM and any contestant not checked in or in line to be checked in will not be able to take part in Pumpkinhead. This is a rain or shine event! Each Contestant will be given a placard bearing their name, the Z Rock logo, and a Contest sponsor name, together with a milk crate. At 8:00 am all Contestants will place a pumpkin over their head and stand on their crate facing toward East Avenue. Every invited applicant who shows up and participates in the Contest will receive a courtesy gift from Z Rock. The last Contestant standing will receive the Grand Prize worth at least $1500.00 from 106.7 Z Rock, KRQR.

Contest Rules:

  1. To be eligible to apply and participate, Applicants must be 18 years of age or older. Only one Contestant per immediate family and household may participate. Contestants will be required to furnish a form of certified photo identification (Driver’s license, Military ID, passport) in order to establish age and identity. Employees of Results Radio, LLC, their immediate family members, its affiliates, and sponsors, board of investors, employees of other radio stations and household pets are not eligible to apply or participate.
  2. As a precondition to participation in the Contest, Applicants must sign this form, in the place provided below, providing their acknowledgment of having read and agreement to abide by these Contest rules in their entirety. Forms must be signed at KRQR Z-Rock studios, at 856 Manzanita Ct., Chico, Calif, no later than Oct 29 at 5:30 p.m
  3. The Contest will be a one day endurance event. No bathroom breaks will be given. Contestants may not wear diapers or other devices to facilitate urination or defecation during the Contest. Z Rock reserves the right to inspect for diapers or other devices designed to circumvent this rule.
  4. Z Rock Officials may call an Official Break during the Contest at any time and for any reason. The timing and length of Official Breaks will be at the discretion of the Z Rock Officials.
  5. Contestants must remain standing on their crate and facing toward the street at all times during the Contest unless Contestant is performing a “Wheel of Death” task or an Official Break has been called. Otherwise, crouching, sitting, lifting a foot off the crate, resting one foot on top of another, jumping, turning away from the street or any other action other than standing, facing toward the street, will result in disqualification. A contestant stepping off of the crate, removing the pumpkin from their head, having the pumpkin fall off their head will be eliminated from the competition, even if the contestant is not responsible for the pumpkin breaking. If at any time other than an official break the pumpkin leaves the contestant’s head, they will be disqualified.
  6. Any item brought to the event for use by contestant must remain on the contestant. There will be no storage on the ground around the contestant. Contestants can not bend down to place items on the ground around them or to pick them up off the ground. Any item the contestant needs to use can be stored in a backpack on their person, tied around them, or placed on strings tied to them provided they do not touch the ground, interfere with safety, or attach to skin. Judges can take items from contestants for storage but the contestant then loses the use of item.
  7. Contestants will be directed by Z Rock Officials to perform tasks according to the designated space on the “Wheel of Death” no less than twice an hour while being required to remain standing on their milk crate. Contestants will be given a count of 10 to perform the task. If the contestant does not start doing the task within those 10 seconds the contestant can be disqualified.
  8. Contestants must obtain their own pumpkin which must be a real, naturally grown, organic squash fruit.
  9. Pumpkins used by Contestants must fit over the Contestant’s head, covering approximately 80%+ of the Contestant’s full head. (No “headcaps” or totally hollowed out faces will be permitted.) If the pumpkin changes or deteriorates during the Contest such that it no longer covers 80%+ of the Contestant’s head, such change will be grounds for disqualification from the Contest.
  10. No devices to shield the elements can be used. No parasols, umbrellas, canopies, or attachments to the pumpkins to shield the elements can be used. No rain coats or ponchos. Non hooded jackets are allowed provided it is used in the intended way and is kept on person during event.
  11. Contestants may not talk or communicate in any manner, directly or indirectly, with any other Contestant during the Contest or during Official Breaks. Contestants are only permitted to speak with friends, family members, and their cheering/support team. At their sole discretion Z Rock Officials may impose a NO TALKING PERIOD during which no audible communication will be permitted by the Contestants with any person.
  12. Contestants must be able to hear/see the judges at all times. No entertainment devices are allowed(music players(ipod/mp3/cd/radio), DVD players, Video Game System, laptops, etc). No books, papers, magazines, etc are allowed. Cell phones are allowed for texting only and must be kept/used outside of the contestants pumpkin
  13. Eyewear should be worn at contestants discretion. In the event that the eyewear poses a health hazard or a risk of potential injury the contestant will be asked to step down and be disqualified. If you must wear eyewear make sure that if fits within the pumpkin and will not pose any hazard if the pumpkin shifts.
  14. If a Z Rock Official extends an offer of a prize to Contestants in return for standing down from their crate, the first Contestant who raises their hand will be the one who receives such prize. However, Contestants must raise their hand before stepping off their crate in order not to be disqualified.
  15. Z Rock may disqualify any Contestant at any time for any reason, if the Z Rock Official monitoring the Contest feels a Contestant is placing his or her health in jeopardy.
  16. Z Rock reserves the right to move the site of the Contest at any time. Should the site be moved after the Contest has commenced, an Official Break will be called, and Z Rock Officials will assist Contestants with moving to a new site.
  17. Contestants may eat food or drink (non alcoholic beverages only) during the Contest, but in doing so, Contestants may not remove pumpkins from their heads and must remain standing on the crate facing the street. Contestants are responsible for bringing food or for having food delivered to them during the Contest as Z Rock will not be responsible for providing any food, beverages, or other nutrients to any Contestant.
  18. Should Z Rock determine at any time that there is any reason to end the Contest while more that one (1) Contestant remains, Z Rock may end the Contest, but will award and evenly distribute the grand prize between all remaining Contestants.
  19. Any attempted or actual negotiation between Contestants that might result in a splitting or other division of the Grand Prize will result in disqualification of all Contestants found to be a party to such effort. In the event the final two Contestants are party to such an effort, disqualification of both will result and the Grand Prize will be awarded to the last person to drop out before the final two were disqualified.
  20. A Contestant who becomes ill or relieves himself or herself in any manner, whether intentionally or otherwise, during the Contest will be disqualified. Urination, defecation and regurgitation are included for purposes of this rule. If a Contestant cannot contain himself or herself, they must exit the Contest and use the rest facility provided or a bone-fide restroom.
  21. All decisions of the Contest Judges are final. By virtue of participating in this Contest, each Contestant agrees to abide by the Contest rules and to accept any and all decisions of the Contest Judges as final. The Contest Judges will be the President, the Market Manager and the Marketing Director of Results Radio of Chico, LLC. The Contest Judges will appoint Z Rock Officials who will have the responsibility of operating the Contest in a safe manner, consistent with these Contest rules.
  22. Z Rock reserves the right to change these Contest rules at any time. Rules changes will become effective upon announcement by a Z Rock Official a) over the radio if prior to the commencement of the Contest or b) to Contestants at the Contest site if after commencement of the Contest.
  23. By virtue of participating in this Contest, Contestants agree to hold Results Radio LLC, it’s affiliates, employees, representatives, officers, directors and sponsors harmless from any liability or damages of any kind whatsoever arising from Contestant’s participation in this Contest. Each Contestant, by participating in this Contest personally accepts full liability for his or her participation in this Contest.
  24. By virtue of participating in this Contest, Contestants agree to give Z Rock permission to use their name, voice and likeness for purposes of advertising and promotion without further compensation for a period of up to fourteen months from the date of their application for participation in the Contest..
  25. All federal, state and local taxes are sole responsibility of the winner. All federal, state, and local laws apply.
  26. Use of drugs or alcohol by Contestants is prohibited. In the event a Z Rock Official determines, in their sole discretion, that a Contestant is under the influence of drugs, alcohol, or an illicit substance, the Official may disqualify that Contestant.
  27. The Contest is a no smoking event. Use of tobacco by Contestants or any members of their support teams may result in the disqualification of the Contestant.
